Anyone who buys a larger breed dog, such as a Great Pyrenees, is entitled to the assurance of a
healthy dog for the money paid. It is our desire  to do all we can do as breeders to assure that our
dogs will serve you healthfully for many years. We offer a free replacement pup to you for the first
two years of your puppy's life if you have your pup xrayed and evaluated by the OFA
and your pup is found to have any degree of hip dysplasia.

Our parent dogs, as of December, 2005, have different hip evaluations that are all within the "normal"
range. To see the definition of the grading system for the OFA hip films, please look at the following,

The Orthopedic Foundation of Animals (OFA) makes available to all dog breeders guidelines for
responsible breeding. To view their "Breeder Guidelines" page, please see  the following link:

I have both spoken and emailed Dr. Keller from the OFA. I am very thankful for his advice on safe
breeding in a joint* effort with all large breed dog breeders to minimize the occurance of hip dysplasia.

There have been many interesting, informative articles written about canine hip dysplasia. One of the
articles that I've found to be very helpful is written by Dr. Jerold Bell, DVM, of the Tufts University School
of Veterinary Medicine. You can read this article by clicking here

There have been many articles on hip dysplasia, linking it to diet. Certain veterinarians say that diet
contributes up to 80% towards the predispostion of dysplasia. Of course, genetics play into this too,
and I will be featuring hip dysplasia articles to come from a variety of sources.

One such excellent article is from the educational site of Drs. Foster and Smith. Please take the time
to read this linked article- it is WELL worth your time !
It is entitled, "Hip Dysplasia: Diagnosis-Treatment-Prevention" and can be found here:
