A testimony for Sonya and Big John !
July 18, 2007
My Husband and I have had the pleasure of visiting the home of Jeannie and her family of Great Pyrenees several times. We requested to meet both parents and the puppies the day after they were born and that request was happily obliged. She was very open and honest with us about Sonya and Big John. She showed us where she kept both dogs and the puppies, their diets, and their personality traits. The personality of the Great Pyr was a big seller to my husband and I. We live in a small community with lots of children and plan on starting our own family soon. We wanted a gentle giant that would work well with the people in our neighborhood but be a deterrent for any person trying to do harm to our family. Meeting Sonya and Big John was first on our to do list since the personality of the Great Pyr was so important to our family. Upon arrival the first one to meet us was Big John. Though he is not a shy dog he is fairly timid to new comers but warms up quickly to your presence. He is in fact one of the largest dogs I have seen which was pleasing to my husband and I since that was another important fact in a Great Pyr for our family. Our first impression of Big John was that he was very peaceable and gentle but if danger were to arise he would protect his family at all cost. Big John met us on his own terms; he did not bark but gave us watchful glances as we approached. He was very friendly and calm in our presence. We noticed his loyalty to Jeannie right away and were pleased at his reaction to us. We were also pleased at Sonya's reaction to our first meeting. Although she watched you carefully when holding one of her puppies she was very trusting of the human hand. Sonya's personality was very patient, peaceable, and gentle. She is very attentive to the needs of her puppies. If any of her puppies cried she immediately came over to make sure it was alright but was never aggressive if they cried in our arms. We have been very pleased with our visits and greatly appreciate the openness that Jeannie has showed to us. My husband and I were very pleased with the personality traits of both Sonya and Big John. We are looking forward to bringing our own puppy home and are confident in the personality of our own little one as she grows.
